Plastimix MR +

MID-RANGE WATER-REDUCING ADMIXTURE FOR CONCRETE

DESCRIPTION:

Plastimix MR+ is a ready to use aqueous solution of complex compounds, water-reducing agents and accelerators which enhance the performance of both plastic and hardened concrete.  Plastimix MR+ is manufactured under rigid quality control measures to provide uniform, reliable results.

USES:

Plastimix MR+ is recommended for mixes where significant water reduction, improved cement performance, normal set times and enhanced finishing characteristics are desirable. Plastimix MR+ is especially effective in improving the performance of mixes containing fly ash and/or GGBFS (slag).

ADVANTAGES:

·        Provides increased slump and flowability without increased water content

·        Improves concrete quality by reducing the water-cement ratio for a given degree of workability

·        Improves workability and finishability on all flatwork, slip formed and pre-cast surfaces

·        Improves cement hydration/utilization

·        Increases early and ultimate strengths

·        Reduces cracking and shrinkage

·        Improves concrete durability

·        Provides mild set acceleration enhancing the setting characteristics of mixes incorporating pozzolans such as fly ash and/or GGBF.

DOSAGE RATE:

Plastimix MR+ is recommended for use at a dosage rate of 5 to 12 fluid ounces per 100 pounds (326 to 782 ml per 100 kg) of cement.

Because local job conditions vary, please contact your local Pro Mix sales representative for further assistance if using outside recommended dosage ranges.

SPECIFICATIONS:

Conforms to ASTM C 494 type A

AASHTO M 194 Type A

CRD C 87 Type A

TECHNICAL NOTE:

Plastimix MR+  is a chemically stable brown liquid with a pH>7.5. Plastimix MR+  weighs approx. 10 lb./gal. and contains calcium chloride as a manufacturing  ingredient.

STORAGE:

Plastimix MR+ may freeze at temperatures below 35 F (2 C).  Although freezing does not harm Plastimix MR+, precautions should be taken to protect it from freezing.  If Plastimix MR+ should happen to freeze, thaw and reconstitute with mechanical agitation.  Do Not Use Pressurized Air For Agitation.

COMPATIBILITY:

Plastimix MR+ is compatible with all types of Portland cement, class C and F fly ash, slag, microsilica, calcium chloride, fibers and approved air entraining, accelerating, retarding, and super plasticizing admixtures.

Field evaluations to determine proper air entrainment dosage rates are suggested when using Plastimix MR+.  It may be possible to reduce the air entraining admixture dosage rate to achieve the desired air content of the concrete mix.

Plastimix MR+ can be used in all white, colored, and architectural concrete.  For best results, each admixture must be dispensed separately into the concrete mix.

PACKAGING:

55-gallon drums and bulk deliveries.
